- Senior-level architect & product development executive with 10 years experience in Web, media and publishing. Recently moved from International Technical Lead for Condé Nast International to consultant Technical Director for a range of digital media startups.
What have I done most recently? I joined XEED and Because Magazine / TANK as Technical Director. For XEED I am helping spearhead their international expansion. For Because I am taking their online strategy to new heights based on my experience in digital publishing.
What was my last step on the ladder? I was International Technical Lead for Condé Nast Digital. Some things relevant to that role, amongst others:
- Expertise in leading development and operations of mission-critical media Web sites totalling millions of pageviews per day, requiring 24×7 uptime and weekly product enhancements. Responsible for a large portfolio of websites in EMEA/APAC including Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and Glamour. Reported directly to the president of Condé Nast International Digital.
- A pragmatic team leader and staff manager with an established track record for mentoring and coaching, problem solving, business need analysis, the architecting of scalable code and database systems, and leading local and remote development groups and suppliers. Growing range of executive experience from board member positions to global departmental management.
- Proven track record in managing business-critical operations and support across departments. SEO, accessibility and UX expert, with architect-level skills maintained in C#, .NET core, ASP.NET internals, WPF, WCF, XHTML, CSS, SQL Server and Solr, PHP, Lucene / Lucene.net
What am I doing at the moment?
- I’m a consultant CTO. I’m Technical Director for XEED and Because Magazine / TANK, and I’m also part of the core team responsible for the code and architecture of Umbraco CMS.
